With surge in traffic on the Chandigarh-Manali highway causing frequent traffic jams, early snowfall along with unexpected tourist rush is bringing brisk business for the tourism industry in Manali.

According to data from green tax barrier, gateway to Manali, the number of tourist vehicles entering the town has increased in the last three days. Majority of them are from Gujarat, Punjab, Delhi and West Bengal.

As the highway is narrow after snow clearance and inadequate for passage of two vehicles at a time, tourist vehicles were not allowed to go towards Rohtang Pass, sources added.
