Singapore Tourism losing share in India Market

New destinations such as China, Maldives, Indonesia, Africa and Bangladesh generating more interests

Singapore is fast losing its popularity amongst the Indian travellers as per a PTI report. The 'India Outbound Monitor', a survey by the Nielsen Company and Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) shows that  the percentage of Indians visiting newer places such as China, Indonesia, Africa, Bangladesh and Macau has gone up to 38 per cent in 2010, up from 20 per cent in 2008.

On the other hand, Singapore's share has gone down to 24 per cent in 2010 from 32 per cent in 2008.
