The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has launched the In Singapore Incentives & Rewards (INSPIRE), a rewards programme catering to the Indian Meetings, Incentives,Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) outbound segment, particularly incentive travel groups.

This rewards programme is a partnership between STB and major Singapore tourism industry partnerssuch as Changi Airport Group, Gardens by the Bay, Resorts World Sentosa, Sentosa Leisure Group,Singapore Airlines, Singapore Turf Club, and Wildlife Reserves Singapore.

India’s outbound MICE market has grown significantly, with Euromonitor pegging it in the range ofUS$ 550-600 million in 2011, with an estimated 1.8 million Indians travelling outbound solely for MICE purposes.

As an established business city and a key hub for business events, Singapore has indeed seen a similar growth in business visitorship from India, with the country ranking as Singapore’s fifth largest source market. In fact, just within the first three quarters of 2012, approximately one third of the 607,000 Indian travellers to Singapore had visited for business.

Growing the Indian incentive group segment entails providing tailored, value-added experiences that cater to the evolving tastes of the Indian business traveller. It is with this in mind that STB and its partners conceptualised the INSPIRE programme, leveraging Singapore’s unique, world-class attractions to boost the destination experience for corporate incentive groups.

Commenting on the programme, Mr Chang Chee Pey, Executive Director, South Asia, Middle Eastand Africa, STB, said, “Cookie-cutter business trips have become a thing of the past as discerning Indian business travellers increasingly seek differentiated experiences as part of their incentive travel programme to reward top performers and drive their business objectives. INSPIRE was thus created to appeal to this growing segment by developing a selection of personalised programmes and exclusive offerings. Many of these experiences, which include complimentary incentive experiences such as Dinner Lunch at Flower Dome (Gardens by the Bay) or Wildlife High Tea Encounter at Singapore Zoo, special guided tours at Singapore Turf Club and Sentosa, exclusive usage of sought after locations and premiere seats at popular performances have been made possible only with the participation of our INSPIRE partners. We are confident that the INSPIRE programme will enticeIndian incentive groups to head to Singapore for an enriching, memorable time through our concentration of world class experiences."
