Singapore Airlines will operate daily flights to Singapore from Kolkata from first August, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said here today as per a PTI report.
The chief minister told reporters of the Singapore Airlines' decision after its CEO Marvin Tan and general manager G M Toh met her at the Writers' Buildings. Banerjee said she would be personally present on the first day.
The airlines at present operates four flights a week. Marvin Tan said that the fare for the single journey had been slashed from Rs 20,000-22,000 to Rs 15,000.
