Celebrating 25 years of operations, SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, will present a limited edition Gold Coin to its business class customers travelling from India in a special eight day promotion.
Customers from India booking their round trip Business Class flights on SilkAir from February 21-28 for travel between Mar 1 2014 to July 31 this year will receive upto two 24K gold coins of four gram each, Singapore Airlines General Manager India David Lau told reporters here.
Joy Alukkas, a renowned jewellery store chain in India, will design the Gold coin.
For travellers going beyond Singapore on SilkAir, they will be given two four gram gold coins.
Despite aggressive competition, the airlines has maitained a strong foothold in the market as a full service regional carrier and become known for offering access to unique destinations, he said.
Those flying from Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Vishakapatnam, Hyderabad and Coimbatore will receive the gold coin featuring the SilkAir and Boeing 737 logo,while customers flying from Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad will receive the gold coin featuring the SilkAir and the special 25th anniversary logo.
SilkAir General Manager India,Vivek Jain said SilkAir had taken its first Boeing 737-800 aircraft this month which would provide more comfortable experience to travellers. The new aircraft will allow them to tap into the growing demand and explore opening of routes across Asia for Indian travellers.
