3 OTAs account for two in three visits by consumers in India according to a Visit-share Report for Online Travel Agencies by Experian Hitwise India.

While Makemytrip has shown a quarter on quarter growth of over 50% in the last quarter, Expedia has the highest growth in terms of visit share on a Year-on-Year basis from April 2010 to April 2011 of 32.8%, while Make My Trip is a close second with 28.5% growth on a large base.

The top 4 OTAs have maintained their rankings through the 4 quarters Makemytrip at No.1; Yatra at No. 2; Cleartrip at No. 3 and Travelocity at No. 4

Search behavior reveals that search by brand name is very high. ‘make my trip’ is the search term leading maximum traffic to OTAs. This shows the high brand recall for the brand which in turn results in high visit share.
