To cut down costs, Saudi Arabian Airlines has moved away from conventional modes of telephonic communication with the installation of "IP telephony" across Saudia's international network, said a press statement issued by the service provider SITA recently.
"It will provide Saudia with significant savings by eliminating international calls among its 151 offices around the world," claimed the release. The new solution is part of the International Managed Converged Advanced Network program (IMCAN), a multi-million dollar, five-year, strategic project run by Saudia and SITA to implement a complete IP-based IT infrastructure in all Saudia offices globally.
