Hotel management group Sarovar Hotels today said it would launch 25 new propertiesin the next two years across the country even as it finds hospitality sector to grow at a lesser rate of 7-10 per cent in 2012-13.
With Sarovar Hotels opening their second property-Park Plaza adjoining The Taj, Chandigarh, the city beautiful, is fast becoming a very hot spot for hospitality sector.
Ajay K.Bakaya,Executive Director, Sarovar Hotels told here today that “occupancy rate at its first property-Hometel has been ovezr 80 per cent. The city has only close to 500 room in five star properties and hence still offers huge scope for hospitality sector”.
“Chandigarh is fast growing as a preferred destination in addition to attracting a large number of business and leisure travelers. Park Plaza, with its central location, will cater to all segments looking for comfortable rooms, business facilities, efficient services and attractive dining options.’’ He said that located in prime business and shopping hub, Park Plaza is an upscale, full service business hotel with 138 elegantly appointed guest rooms and suites.

"We will be launching 25 new hotel projects under our brands like Sarovar Premiere, Portico, Park Plaza in various parts of the country," Company's Executive Director Ajay K Bakaya said.
Sarovar manages and franchises 58 operational hotels under its various brands across 40 cities and a total 27 hotels are at various stages of development in various parts of the country.
"We will be opening hotels in several parts including Jalandhar, Ajmer, Chennai, Zirakpur, Delhi, Kerala, Bangalore among other cities," he said, adding, "last year, we launched 11 hotel properties in the country."
Sarovar Hotels is aiming at 25 per cent growth in its fee income from hotel business which stood at Rs 60 crore in 2011-12.
