Sahay announces Rs 200 cr for promotion of tourism in Gujarat

Minister keen on supporting states which are pro-active

Union Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahay today promised a central assistance of Rs 200 crore for promotion of the sector in Gujarat.

"I am picking up states which are pro-active and I find that Gujarat is pro-active. So are Goa, Kerala, Rajasthan Uttrakhand, Gujarat and some southern states are eager to join this ring," Sahay told reporters, on sidelines of a seminar here.

Sahay has paid visits to the sites for the three mega tourist circuit projects being proposed by the Gujarat government, including Kabirvad in Bharuch, Gandhi circuit in Porbandar and one in temple town of Dwarka.
