Bangalore-based Royal Orchid Hotels Ltd is targeting a total inventory of around 5,000 rooms in the next three years as it looks to tap into growing domestic demand for branded hotels.
The company, which currently operates 20 hotels with 1,800 rooms across India in the upscale and mid-scale segments, has also announced a new brand, 'Regenta', with an eye on the weddings, conferences and events market in the country.
"In the next three years, we expect to touch 5,000 rooms inventory by launching new hotels. Today, we have 20 hotels and in the next one year, we hope to have 30 hotels with total inventory of 3,000 rooms. The focus will be on management contracts," Royal Orchid Hotels Managing Director C K Baljee told reporters.
At present, the company operates hotels under joint venture, ownership, lease, revenue sharing and management contract models.
Commenting on the launch of the new brand Baljee said: "With the launch of 'Regenta', we are prepared to take on the weddings and events market in India."
The newly launched Regenta Hotel and Convention Centre in Delhi is spread across six acres of land with 50 rooms, extensive lawns and banquet halls. The property is owned by Anant Raj Group and has been taken on lease by Royal Orchid.
