Ropeway project to Kanaka-durga temple near Vijaywada, proposed several years ago, has not yet been put to execution.
The proposal was sent to government and the tourism officials to get clearance. But they failed to receive any clearance from the irrigation department, said The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Divisional Manager Mr J. Raghupathi Rao.
On completion, the ropeway would become an added asset as thousands of devotees visit the Durga temple from several states all over India. Also, it would bring some relief to the trafic on the national highway near Prakasam barrage during peak hours.
