Rao Travels, a household name for Telugus domestic travel in India is soon to set its foot into Hotel business. It is planning to setup a 100 room hotel property with an investment of Rs.10 crores informed Mr. P. Sudhakar Rao, Director – Rao Travels.

Rao Travels has made a mark for itself in India achieved a milestone in its journey and has been recognised as the ‘Best Domestic Tour Operator’ by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India for the year 2010-11 recently. This is the second consecutive year that Rao Travels has bagged the prestigious National Tourism Award. The hotel property at Tirupati will have 40 luxury rooms and 60 ordinary rooms informed Mr. P. Sudhakar Rao. 

And for the first time in India a Free Travel Call Centre that will be open 24X7, 365 days to give information on Tourists spots and Pilgrimage places will also be setup. Initially the call centre will provide the information in Southern languages and other languages will added later. Callers can get information on Tourists spots, pilgrimage centres, info on how to get there, etc. free of cost in their native language. Rao Travels also plans to expand to places in North East India biz. Darjeeling, etc. informed Mr. Sudhakar Rao. We are not only promoting travel to the north east India but will also try to bring in tourists to the state of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Rao added. 

Rao Travels won the ‘Best Domestic Tour Operator’ by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India for the year 2010-11 recently. Chairman of the company Mr. S. Subba Rao, Managing Director Mr. S. Srinivas Rao and Mr. P. Sudhakar Rao, Director - Rao Travels received the award in New Delhi through the hands of President Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil in the presence of Union Tourism Minister Shri. Subodh Kant Sahai and others recently.
