Rajasthan Tourism department is planning to roll out 100 new food joints along national highways in next two years. The state tourism department principal secretary told that these joints will provide wayside facilities to international and domestic tourists passing through the state as per a report in ET.
"We will complete the selection of sites within a week. These sites will be developed as quality food joints with the help of private players," she said. These joints, developed under 'Padharo Sa' scheme of Rajasthan Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy will be provided with 25% of the cost of construction/renovation as incentive, subject to a maximum of Rs 5 lakh.
"All these joints will have common branding. Apart from that, this will ensure quality food and other facilities for tourists visiting the state. It will also encourage private sector partnership in tourism development in the state," she said.
