The first orientation programme of the rules pertaining to the Rajasthan Tourism Trade (Facilitation and Regulation) Act, 2010 has set the ball rolling for a more regulated tourism sector in the state. While facilitating the tourists visiting the state, this would also keep in check the malpractices that had been plaguing the sector so far as per a report in TOI.
"The rules pertaining to the Rajasthan Tourism Trade (Facilitation and Regulation) Act, 2010, which were notified by the state government in February this year will be implemented effectively in the state now," said principal secretary, tourism, Usha Sharma. She was speaking at the review meeting of the field officers of the tourism department in Jaipur.
During the review meeting, progress of each tourism unit was reviewed vis-a-vis the implementation of the rules. An orientation was also provided to them so that they could hold a meeting in their respective districts and areas for informing the service providers the provisions of the Act. Suggestions for their effective implementation were also taken from unit officers. "Proper implementation of the act would go a long way in facilitating and regulating tourism activities in the state," said Sharma.
