The rajasthan Tourism department has decided to hold a tourist festival comprising ancient Ranakpur and Sun temple, where a full day yoga training session will be held followed by Indian classical dance. The new festival is aimed at promoting Godwad region comprising Pali district which has remained neglected for long as per a report in TOI by Ajay Parmar.
Deputy director (tourism) Anand Tripathi, emphasizing the need to explore new places and ideas, said that yoga has always identified as a means of healthy living and a heritage of India, which has in recent past, found enormous favour with the foreign tourists, who are curious to learn about it. "After incorporating yoga in tourism in Jaipur, now we are bringing this concept to the picturesque Aravalli ranges, which has hitherto been unexplored, but has a rich potential with rich historical and architectural value", he added. This festival will be held in Ranakpur from August 9 to 12, which will also have classical dance performances at the adjacent 13th century Sun temple and the event is being publicized as " Yoga Retreat and Classical Dance Festival".
