Queensland in Australia is promoting itself as a "brag destination" for tourists from India especially the the Cashed up Indian DINKs (Double Income No Kids).
Tourism Queensland (TQ) chief Anthony Hayes says a recent research commissioned by Tourism Australia shows one prerequisite of Indian travellers was a "bragability factor".
He said high spending Indian couples aged 25 to 40 are willing to part with wads of cash for experiences they can't get at home, such as the romance of a road-trip.
"Driving Queensland's scenic routes in a convertible for example has a great brag factor for friends and family back home," Hayes said in a statement.
"Tourism Queensland aims to capitalise on this emerging market segment."
Hayes said Indian DINKS love flaunting big spending holidays, AAP reported.
"They aren't content with group or coach tours but rather like being free, independent travellers, exploring the destination by car, but also incorporating all the comforts of a high-end holiday," he said.
"For example, they'll hire luxury vehicles for a self-drive holiday and stay in five-star accommodation."
TQ has begun promoting the Great Sunshine Way and Great Tropical Drive self-drives to the Indian market, the report said.
