The Punjab government has approved a project worth Rs 15 crore to turn Kartarpur (Jalandhar district) into a tourist destination under the 12th Five Year Plan, for the state's ongoing 'Sikh Circuit' tourism plans.

The project is formulated to widen the integrated infrastructure for religious tourism development and improve connectivity to the identified religious circuits, Sarwan Singh Phillaur, the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister said.
