Pride Group of Hotels, one of the fastest growing hospitality chains in the country, launched the 5 Star, 153 rooms deluxe property named Pride Hotel Kolkata yesterday. The company has invested Rs. 100 crores to set up the Kolkata Hotel, which is the group's first property in Eastern India.
Announcing the developments, SP Jain, managing director, Pride Hotels Limited said, "We are buoyant on the industry's growth of Kolkata, particularly the IT/ITeS segment that has fuelled demand of upscale mid market hotels in this region. While the cultural capital has always been in the forefront of attracting a large volume of leisure tourists, Kolkata is recording a steady growth of business travelers. However there is still acute shortage of upscale mid market hotel rooms in the city as there has been no major addition in the number of hotel rooms over the last decade. We are extremely privileged to bridge this gap with the launch our first property at Kolkata".
According to Satyen Jain, CEO, Pride Hotels Limited, with the launch of Kolkata property Pride Group of Hotels now will offer over 1100 rooms with a host of F & B, Banquet and conferencing facilities at its 12 properties in the cities of Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Nagpur and Kolkata under the 'Pride Hotel' Brand and at Gurgaon, Ranipet, Salem, Kochi, Jaipur and Alleppey under the Brands 'Pride Biznotel' & 'Pride Resorts' across the country.
The Kolkata launch is part of the massive 1000 Crore expansion initiative embarked by the company. The Pride Hotel, New Delhi, presently under implementation, envisages the setting up of a 400 Rooms upscale mid market hotel located at, Delhi Aerocity, Near Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The group plans to expand its footprints in Goa and Alibaug by setting up Resort, Hotels. The company has already tied up the land at Alibaug & South Goa for this purpose. Pride Group will open its first property in the commercial capital by setting up a 400 rooms Five Star Deluxe Hotel in Mumbai. The company will invest Rs. 300 crores to set up the Mumbai property that will be operational in 2015.
