In a bid to enable commuters to travel cashless throughout the city, the ministry of urban development will start the plastic card called More-Delhi from today. This comes after eight months since the official announcement of its launch.

The rechargeable pre-paid card would work on the same principle as the Delhi Metro card, said sources.

"To start with, the card will only give common mobility facility between Metro and feeder buses which provide last mile connectivity to the Metro stations. However, eventually, the card will be used on various modes of transportation like buses of Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), taxis, and modes of public transport in other cities," said Sudhir Krishna, chairman, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and secretary of ministry of urban development.

"Talks are on with DTC and hopefully this service will integrate the DTC buses soon," Krishna added.

Last December, Urban Development minister Kamal Nath had unveiled the card in the urban mobility India conference-cum-exhibition in the national capital.
