Tourism in Philippines has been a top-earner for the country, propping up the country's reserves. Indian travellers who have always admired the effusive hospitality of Filippinos, continue to flock to its shores. As evident from the growth figures, Philippines has yet again recorded a remarkable 44.62% in Indian arrivals for January-April, 2011. This reflects the effort of the Department of Tourism (DOT) to promote tourism and shows the kind of tourist attractions in Philippines.

Not only this, Philippines registered a surge of 72% in January and 75% in February 2011 alone in Indian arrivals. India is a big market and everybody wants a share of it which is apparent from the growing presence of national tourism offices, whose numbers have gone up in the last few years. The Indian market is a significant source of arrival, especially since global tourism group points to the remarkable growth of India’s outbound tourists which are also in the high-end spending bracket.
