Philippines Tourism organizes its first India sales mission

Delegation of travel trade operators from Philippines participates in the sales mission in New Delhi and Mumbai.

Philippines tourism organised its Sales Mission in Mumbai today i.e. December 9, 2010 after organizing the same in New Delhi . The companies participating in the sales mission included Baron Travel Corporation, Blue Horizons Travel & Tours, Diamond Hotel Philippines, Eskaya Beach Resort & Spa, Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila, Intas Destinations Management, Manila Hotel, Philippine Airlines, Select Travel Services, Thunderbird Resorts, Shangri-la Hotels & Resorts, Shroff Travel Care International, T.R.I.P.S. Travel, The Farm at San Benito and Tourism Infrastructure & Enterprise Zone Authority.

Benito C Bengzon, Assistant Secretary, International Tourism Promotions, DoT, Philippines said, “We will organise familiarization trips for the Indian travel trade, attend travel and tourism fairs and increase awareness about Philippines as a tourist destination through public relation and advertisement.” Philippines witnesses 10 per cent rise in Indian tourist arrivals every year.

Philippines Airlines also plans to launch direct flights from New Delhi to Manila in 2011 to further boost tourism from India into the country.

Glen Agustin, Head, Team India and Chief, Tourism Operations Officer, Philippines Tourism stated that Philippines offers scuba diving, cave exploration, rock climbing, mountain biking, casinos, excellent nightlife, shopping, golf, wellness, spa and beaches. The country can cater to all kind of travellers such as business travellers, honeymooners, tour and incentive groups and families from India." He also emphasized on the  ease of language as it is the third largest English speaking country in the world & that the country also has several Indian restaurants so that tourists don't have to worry about getting Indian food.

The visa regulations for Philippines have been eased and can be obtained in one or two days said Maria Agnes M Cervantes, Minister and Consul General, Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines
