With Indian tourists flocking to every nook and cranny of Philippines, it has become a hot spot for every travel maniac. With its innovative marketing strategies and adequate branding, Philippines today has established itself as a major player in the tourism Industry.
One such strategic move that Philippines has taken to sustain its share in the Indian Tourism Industry is the Philippines India Travel Exchange or PHILINDEX. This is an exclusively organised business-to-business meeting scheduled to be held between 25- 28 April at the Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila. PHILINDEX is an industry-based initiative that links Indian wholesale travel trade buyers and local sellers of tourism products and services.
More than top twenty three Indian tour operators, wholesalers, travel agents will attend the event. They will be given an opportunity to meet and interact with their Philippines counterparts comprising of Philippines tour operators who specialise in the Indian travel market and others who want to penetrate in the Indian market during this milestone event.
Philippines Tourism Marketing Office is expecting the Indian wholesalers to push Philippines in India through OTC (over-the-counter) or POS (point-of-sale) promotion and other agency-driven consumer marketing schemes. PHILINDEX is expected to boost and guide the efforts of Philippines Tourism by focusing on infrastructure and product development since this event covers both ends (supply and demand) of the market spectrum.
The course of the event would also enable the Indian travel agents to acquire optimal understanding of the Philippines regional appeal and landscapes. Knowing the tourist attractions of Philippines would help and encourage more people to be interested in embracing the country.
In the process, local industry players would also learn about the present and future global market opportunities that they could take advantage of. Philippines’s overall objective with PHILINDEX is to sustain the increase in tourist arrivals from India by giving a common platform to the Indian and Philippines travel industry insiders emphasising on them to sign contracts.
