Patiala gets a Rs. 53 Crore boost for tourism development

The Punjab government plans to spend Rs. 53 crore for the development of tourism in Patiala district in the next five years. 

Deputy commissioner GK Singh stated this on Thursday in a meeting with district officials to review the implementation of the tourism programme. Chief ministerParkash Singh Badal is reported to have approved the expenditure. The Punjab heritage and tourism promotion board and the Infrastructure Development Investment for Tourism and Promotion will implement the project together. 

Additional DC (development) is nodal officer for the implementation of the project that is aimed also at improving the state of gardens in Patiala, especially the famous Baradari. For providing tourists with better stay, the tourism board plans to open online booking of rooms at Circuit House. In September, a heritage walk is planned as per an HT report.
