Oberoi Hotels and Resorts plans to foray into Thailand in the next three years as part of its plans to double the number hotels under its brand to 40 in the next five years. This information was given by Liam Lambert, President, Oberoi Hotels and Resorts on the sidelines of the ongoing Hoteliers’ Conclave in New Delhi. He said, “We would want our brand to be present in Thailand and hope to be there in the next three years.”
Lambert added that entering a tourist destination like Thailand is a precursor to the firm’s plans to spread its presence in the luxury capitals of the world like Paris, New York, Europe and Moscow.
The company is currently on a five year expansion mode, under which it expects to have a total of 40 properties under the Oberoi brand. “The objective in the next five years is to double the number of Oberoi hotels in India and outside. Right now, we have 19 and want to take it up to 40,” added Lambert.
