OTOAI successfully celebrates its 1st Anniversary

Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI) celebrated its First Anniversary on Dec 20, 2012 at its Third Members’ Meet held at Hotel ITC Parel, Mumbai. The event was a big success in terms of the attendance and the multitude of meaningful discussions and networking that took place with all the key stakeholders. 

OTOAI is a national, not-for-profit organization comprising of India’s outbound tour operators and travel agents as its members. The association aims to foster an environment of collaboration with various stakeholders through our ideology of collective ambition. The Anniversary Celebrations of OTOAI proved to be an important platform to foster such collaborations and engage with multiple stakeholders. 

Taking of specific initiatives at the event, various stakeholders resolved to work collectively with active participation of members to consolidate the industry and create a strong lobby to resolve all industry issues. The NTOs and DMCS at the event also resolved to encourage a two way information exchange and knowledge management system for the members.

Mr Himanshu, Patil, Chairman – Western Chapter, OTOAI and Director, Kesari Tours Private Limited, in his keynote address, pressed the need for a meaningful dialogue with all industry stakeholders to form an effective lobby and work towards the resolution of various issues affecting the industry. He also requested the NTOs and Embassies to standardize and simplify the visa application procedures for visas applied through the tour operators.

Mr.Guldeep Singh Sahni, President, OTOAI briefed the audience on the developments and past achievements of OTOAI and laid the blueprint for the OTOAI’s vision for the future. He thanked the NTOs for their overwhelming support and assured them that OTOAI will stand firm on its commitment to bring transparency and trust in the industry.
