Concerned over energy conservation in its properties, Odisha Tourism signed an MoU with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) for energy audit in its hotels and stay-homes.
The Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) has at least 22 properties, known as Pantha Niwas, in operation which provided comfortable stay for the tourists.
“TERI will carry out an energy audit and advise us on changes that can be brought in our utilities to save power. TERI will advise us about future constructions and ensure that they are Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA),” said an OTDC official.
According to provision of the MoU, TERI will provide advisory inputs on sustainable habitats relating to various projects implemented by OTDC (Odisha Tourism Department Circuit) and destination development projects.
