The Karnataka government will soon unveil a new tourism policy to promote activities and increase employment opportunities, state's Tourism and Education Minister R V Deshpande said today.
Karnataka, being a major tourism hub, the government wanted to tap potential in various districts, including Chamarajanagar, Mysore and Kodagu, so that there would be more employment opportunities and generation of revenue, Deshpande said.
Addressing industrialists at the Chamarajnagar Investors Meet-2014, here, he said there was a need to increase basic infrastructure to promote tourism and in this regard it was proposed to start an Infrastructure Corporation, modalities for which would be worked out soon.
