Musi riverfront in Hyderabad to be tourist spot soon

Grand plans are being drawn up by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to develop the Musi riverfront between Puranapul and Nagole as a tourist destination on the lines of Necklace Road.

The corporation is planning to develop the Musi riverfront as a recreational and cultural centre with an open auditorium and other facilities. It also plans to allow commercial activities like setting up kiosks for selling refreshments and boating in the river as per a report by Koride Mahesh in TOI

"GHMC has called request for proposal (RFP) from consultants for riverfront development and a pre-bid conference was also held recently. Consultant will have to submit proposals by October 12 and the selected developer would have to submit the detailed project report within a month. The estimated cost of the project will be between Rs 200 and Rs 250 crore," said GHMC engineer-in-chief R Dhan Singh
