In the rankings done on the basis of a global ASQ survey by the ACI of 153 airports, including 6 Indian ones, the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) has emerged as one of the top performing airports worldwide in the annual ACI Airport Service Quality Awards for 2010.
It has been rated the second best airport worldwide for airports in the 15-25-million passengers per annum (mppa) category as announced by the Airports Council International (ACI) yesterday, a press release issued here today stated.
This is a distinct and considerable improvement over the earlier ranking of 12 for 2009 in the 15-25 mppa category, it said.
Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd's Managing Director, G V Sanjay Reddy, said "At MIAL, we have always worked towards the goal of quality service and have strived to cultivate a customer-oriented service culture at CSIA. We are both happy and proud that CSIA continues to win accolades and gain international recognition year-on-year for its service standards and facilities."
Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi Airport retained the number one position for the second year in a row among 49 airports handling 5-15 million passengers per annum (mppa), Indira Gandhi International Airport came fourth in a group of 19 airports in the 25-40 mppa category.
