Maharashtra Tourism Minister announces SeaWorld project in Sindhudurga district

A scuba-diving facility where visitors will be trained in scuba diving is also planned for Sindhudurg

Maharashtra's PWD and tourism minister,Chhagan Bhujbal, announced a host of projects for the Sindhudurga district, including "a SeaWorld near the upcoming Chippi airport". SeaWorld is a chain of marine mammal parks, oceanariums, and animal theme parks in the US. 

"Land owners have given their consent for the project and we will soon move for land acquisition," said Bhujbal, adding that the project is aimed at attracting high-end tourists. "A scuba-diving facility where visitors will be trained in scuba diving is also planned for Sindhudurg," he said. The Maharashtra government has also declared Aronda as a tourist destination.
