Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has formed a new alliance called the Diamond Alliance. This unique coalition is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) where hoteliers, resort owners, tour operators, transport operators and airlines have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MTDC, together to promote tourism of Maharashtra.

Diamond Alliance is a one of a kind alliance and also the first in the country. MTDC can be termed as the facilitator and catalyst to promote tourism in the state. Now with this new alliance the government and the private players are coming together to promote tourism, which would play a very key role in the long run to increase the tourism footfall in the state.

The hoteliers who has signed the MoU with MTDC are JW Marriott, The Oberoi Group, Kamat Hotels, Absolute Hotel Services, Tiger Trails. Cox & Kings, Kuoni, Mercury Travels from the tour operators' segment. Treasure Tourism, Auto Infrastructure, Sudarshan Car Rentals from the car rental operators.

From the airlines sector Jet Airways are very keen on signing the MoU.
