To give a boost to the hospitality sector in the state, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC) is all set to develop a five-star hotel in Residency area of Indore.
The project is to be developed through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model on a five -acre land owned by the corporation. Groups like Sahara, Essel and Hyatt have evinced their interest to invest over Rs 500 crore in the project.
Sources said that representatives of these groups have already inspected the site that is next to MPTDC regional office in Residency area. “This will be the biggest hotel of the state. The corporation officials are also in touch with Ambani group to get their representatives visit the site,” said a senior official from MPTDC on condition of anonymity.
Confirming that the hotel project was in the pipeline, MPTDC Indore regional manager MN Jamali said, “We have made a plan to develop a big hotel on the five acre land owned by MPTDC which is located next to corporation’s Indore office through PPP model. Many groups have shown their interest in the project.”
The process of land diversion for developing the hotel has been done. The initial project report has been sent to financial committee of the corporation to decide on the lease rent and other issues before inviting the tenders.
