Calling the Jammu and Kashmir as the best destinations for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events) Tourism, Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) director GN Qasba on Saturday said the concept is picking up very fast in the state in a report by IBNS.
Qasba said that J&K was the pioneer in establishing convention centre in the country as the SKICC and it was the first convention centre in India which was set up in the late seventies. “We all have a moral responsibility to promote convention tourism which incidentally makes sense now as the corporate world has invested huge sums of money into MICE promotion," he said.
He made an appeal to corporate India to come forward and make best use of the multi-facilities at SKICC, which is located on the picturesque Dal Lake.
A colourful programe was organized by the SKICC, in collaboration with international travel agency, ‘Cox and Kings’ in Srinagar on Saturday in which hundreds of tourists participated.
