Louvre Hotels to open 4 new hotels in India by April

Paris-based Louvre Hotels Group plans to open four new hotels in India by April as part of its expansion plans in the country. 

The group that currently has 16 hotels in India under three brands -- Royal Tulip, 5 star luxury; Golden Tulip, 4- star; and Tulip Inn, 3-star -- will add the new properties under these brands. 

"We are going to open four more hotels in India by beginning of April 2015 as part of our expansion plans in the country," Louvre Hotels Group Managing Director South AsiaVimal J Singh told PTI. 

Elaborating on the company's plan he said: "Out of the four new hotels, two at Vasundhara in NCR and Neemrana in Rajasthan will be under the Golden Tulip brand, while one in Bengaluru will be a Tulip Inn property and hotel in Kufri near Shimla will be a Royal Tulip property." 

The company also plans to open a 500 room Royal Tulip hotel in Bangladesh in 2015, he added. 

He said the company is developing a business plan to invest in India which could happen probably between second and third quarter of 2015. 

"We will look at owning the hotels, we will look at acquisitions and also developing new hotels to increase our foot print in India. We also plan to introduce more brands here," Singh said. 

As for the planned four new properties, they would be under the management contract model, he added.
