Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, a Bharat Hotels enterprise Tuesday said it will open two new hotels in the luxury segment by the end of the current year.
"We will be opening two luxury hotels by end of 2013. The first hotel at Chandigarh will be opened shortly," The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group Chairperson & Managing Director Jyotsna Suri told PTI.
The other hotel at Kolkata will be opened by November this year, she added.
Suri was speaking on the sidelines of an event organised by the industry body FICCI on the tourism industry and release of a survey on the present tourism scenario.
Last year, the group had said that it planned to invest Rs 1,198 crore as part of its expansion plans for next three years. Out of this Rs 698 crore was to be on luxury segment while Rs 500 crore was earmarked for the mid-segment hotels, the company had said.
The other hotels in pipeline for this as well as next year will be at London, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Dehradun, Dubai and Koh Samui (Thailand), it added.
Lalit Suri Hospitality Group currently has nine hotels that are operational while eight are under various stages of development.
