The Minister of Culture Kumari Selja yesterday inaugurated the exhibition of Kazakh State Museum of Gold and Precious Metals of Kazakhstan and Art Exhibition of the “Kulanshi” Contemporary Arts Centre as part of “Days of Culture of Kazakhstan” in India from 11-13th May, 2011 in New Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion the minister said, both, India and Kazakhstan have rich heritage and culture. She said, the range of objects in the exhibition is very large covering metal ware, armaments, precious metal articles and other objects of significance. This exhibition brings most unique exhibits from the Museum of the Gold of the Republic of Kazakhstan reflecting history and culture of the Kazakh people. Among them, the Saka warrior gold jewelry dating from the second half of the 1st millennium BC, as well as items of traditional armament and applied art of the Kazakhs from end of 1st century to the beginning of 20th century and reconstruction of the warrior leader of the Saka period are of special importance.
