Starting from 01st July 2011, the Kenya visa fee will be 50 US Dollars per person to increase on the income or the East African countries should decide on one East African visitor’s Visa.

This has made some tourists not to go to other countries in this region because too much time is wasted at the border during clearing.

Because of the current economic crisis and that of 2008 in Nairobi, a senior tourism stakeholder said they chose to reduce the visa fee from $50 to $25 per person and tourists going to Uganda to carry out the gorilla tracking activity and want to go back to Kenya are free to re-enter the country.
