Kaziranga which is currently closed for the monsoon, will reopen to tourists on November 1. However, the low-lying areas of the park are still under water and so will be out of bounds for the tourists even after the park reopens. Chief wildlife conservator of forest (Kaziranga) N K Vasu said,

"We will open the park on November 1 as usual so tourists from India and abroad can visit Kaziranga and enjoy the beauty of the World Heritage Site park." "Although the annual monsoon is over, several low-lying areas of the park are still under water, so tourists will be restricted from these areas while visiting the park," Vasu said.

He added the roads and bridges that were damaged in the floods have been repaired to ensure a smooth visit for tourists in the park.
