After having been closed owing to the recent floods, the Kaziranga National Park and the Rajiv Gandhi Orang National Park located in Assam has been reopened for tourists.

Floods had inundated three national parks in Assam including Kaziranga National Park, where two-thirds of the world's famed one-horned rhinoceroses live.

Other than one-horned rhinos, the park is also home to elephants, Asiatic water buffaloes, swamp deer and many species of birds.
