Karnataka to upgrade infrastructure at 25 Temples to boost pilgrim tourism

Karnataka department of religious endowment is gearing up to promote pilgrim tourism through various projects.

As a first step in this regard, the department has identified 25 temples in the state as pilgrim tourism temples. Various development activities will be taken up to make those selected temples attractive and thereby drag more pilgrims. 

Minister for religious endowment, Kota Srinivas Poojary said the department has released Rs 1 crore each to selected 25 temples for development of infrastructure.

The department also has plans to arrange special tours with the help of KSRTC. "We are in touch with KSRTC officials and we have requested them to introduce special trips to selected temples during summer," Poojary added.
