Kargil district gets Rs 36 crore to strengthen tourism infrastructure

Jammu and Kashmir government  has announced a special grant of Rs 36 crore to strengthen the tourism infrastructure in Kargil district of frontier Ladakh region.

A two-day tourism fair was held in Kargil district on 24th & 25th Sept to promote the region.

\\\"An amount of Rs 36 crore are being spent in Kargil district to strengthen tourism infrastructure,\\\" State Tourism Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora said after inaugurating the fair at Khari Sultanchu Sports Stadium in the town, 204 kms from Srinagar.
Jora said the purpose of organising the two-day fair was part of the efforts to attract tourists from across the country and abroad to the region.
\\\"Such fairs will go a long way in development of tourism sector at national and international level,\\\" he said and asked the officers to give wide publicity of tourism fair being held next year in Kargil.
