With tourism in Jammu and Kashmir flourishing, the Tourism department now plans to introduce laser light shows at famous tourist destinations, including the Chinar Park and Shalimar Mughal gardens near Dal Lake.
"To showcase the marvellous and enchanting beauty of the city, laser light shows will be organised very soon near Dal Lake to attract and entertain visiting tourists," Tourism Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora said at a function here.
Jora, who inaugurated reconstructed Lal Ded Memorial Museum at Habbakadal, Foot Bridge at Chinar Park Dal Gate and Coffee House at Peerzoo on the banks of River Jhelum yesterday, said "Varied tourism potential of Srinagar city is being fully explored by upgrading tourist infrastructure besides development of potential spots and conservation of heritage places". The Lal Ded Memorial museum was completed at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore and another Rs 80 lakhs were spent on the Foot Bridge and construction of Coffee House.
