Tourists visiting Jharkhand will get an opportunity to have a glimpse of tribal life and spend time with villagers at Amadubi in East Singhbhum from next month as per a report in TOI. According to state tourism and social welfare minister Bimla Pradhan, most of the tourists have a desire to spend some time with tribal people and know about their life style and culture.

"Keeping this in mind, we decided to start rural tourism in the state. The project will be completed by this month-end at Amadubi in East Singhbhum," said Pradhan adding visitors will get an idea of the tribal culture, traditions and food habit. In coming years, similar facility will be available at other tribal villages, including Ghodanegi, Pindrabera, Chitteshwar Dham, Janumdih and Devridih. "Our effort will be to provide best infrastructure in rural areas so that the visitors can enjoy their stay even in these remote villages," said Pradhan.

Talking about other proposals, she said the tourism department is also working on a project to provide facilities at every 50 kilometres on the national and state highways. "In the current fiscal, we have plans to provide road-side tourist facility along the highways at select places, including Dumka, Patratu, Ormajhi, Gumla, Angara and Rajrappa.

The department will engage some reputed companies which have the experience of maintaining hotel chain or restaurants so that the tourists get best food and accommodation when they move on the highways in the state," said Pradhan. The department has appointed the Jharkhand Infrastructure Development Corporation (JINFRA) as a consultant. JINFRA will shortlist the company that will be given the responsibility for developing tourist facilities along the highways.
