Italy’s National Tourism Board, has launched a project aimed at strengthening the image of Italy as a tourist destination in four emerging countries - Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC) - through an initiative aimed at promoting Italian tourism through artists selected from the four countries. The project — "Italy seen by foreign artists” — provides a display of works by artists from the four countries, produced at the end of a travel experience in Italy, according to a press release.
A group of 30 Chinese, Brazilian and Russian artists – identified and selected by the ENIT offices in the countries concerned – have concluded a ten-day trip to Italy to draw inspiration for producing works to be exhibited during the various events in the 4 countries. The ten artists from India, however, shall visit Italy from 20th June to 14th July 2011.
The exhibition event will involve as widely as possible the key players of the tourism industry (tour operators and travel agents), representatives of the highest institutional and non-institutional levels (stakeholders, opinion leaders, representatives of local institutions, etc.) the media (general and specialist press) through an intensive programme of meetings aimed at the presentation of tourism products and the ‘Made in Italy’ brand. It will also involve the general public who will visit the exhibition and its display area.
