Indian travel agents visit Maldives on a Fam tour

Maldives attracted 30,978 tourists from India in 2011; At the end of September this year Maldives has recorded 19,723 Indian visitors.

MMPRC (Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation), represented by OM Tourism in India and Sri Lankan Airlines jointly organized a familiarization trip for travel agents from New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai to Maldives from 3 – 7 November 2012.  

The objective of this FAM trip was for agents to enhance their knowledge of the destination and experience “Maldives ... the sunny side of life” personally. It would enable them to further promote and sell the destination more effectively.   

The group was led by the group was led by MMPRC Trade Sales Manager from India. The travel agents wh participated in the fam trip include Varun Worldwide Holidays, Jagson Travels, Marrot Travels, Cirrus Travels, Shitij Tours, Pegasus Travels &Tours, Uniglobe ATB, and two officials from Sri Lankan Airlines -Delhi.

During their stay the group visited a number of resorts including Olhuveli Beach & Spa Resort, Constance Moofushi Resort, Constance Halaveli Resort, Kuramathi Island Resort, Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru and Angsana Ihuru where they were exposed to various facilities and the range of activities that one could enjoy during their holidays.
