The visitors who will be attending the Indian Grape Harvest, the annual wine festival beginning next month in Nashik, will be treated to tour packages to wildlife parks and visits to vineyards, farms and orchards. The tours have been planned by the Indian Grape Processing Board (IGPB). The event also marks the celebration of the commencement of the grape crushing season.
The IGPB started the annual event last year with an objective of promoting grapes, grape wines and agro tourism. The three-day festival will be held from February 14 to 16 at the Vinchur Wine Park, around 60 km from Nashik city.
Speaking to TOI, chairman of the IGPB Jagdish Holkar said, "This is the second edition of our annual event. Our major objective is not only to promote wine or grapes, but also the tourist destinations, agro tourism and the local food. This year, we are planning tour packages for our visitors a trip to select tourist destinations, vineyards and orchards in the district. The tourists attending the festival will be provided with staying facilities and tents in the park. To start with, we are planning to put up 100 tent houses and the numbers will be increased as per the bookings. We are expecting tourists from abroad and across all states in the country."
