The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) has announce its 9th Annual Convention to be held in Srinagar, from 12-15 September, 2011. Keeping its promise to take the Adventure Tourism to new heights and creating opportunities for the adventure travelcommunity, ATOAI is taking the convention to Srinagar on the invitation of Hon Chief Minister of J & K. Omar Abdullah.
The theme of this year’s convention is – Indian Adventure: CreatingOpportunities. Propagating the theme, “INDIAN ADVENTURE – CREATING OPPORTUNITIES”, ATOAI seeks to use the convention as a meaningful and useful platform to harness all available resourcesand promote adventure tourism by marketing, networking and capacity – building, and alsohopes to revive and boost tourism in Jammu & Kashmir, a crucial input.
ATOAI extends its heartfelt thanks to J&K Tourism, the official host of the convention, and to Hon’ble Shri Nawang Rigzin Jora, J&K’s Minister of Tourism and Culture, for his generous patronage and support. The local travel trade is also pitching in and providing full support to ATOAI to ensure the success of the Convention.
Talking about the theme of the convention ‘Indian Adventure: Creating Opportunities’, Mr. Tejbir Singh Anand, President ATOAI, said, we’re thinking big, our aim is to invite over 200 Indian and overseas buyers, in addition to our members as well as the local travel community in J & K to participate in the event. As the theme suggests, the convention’s primary focus will be on creating marketing opportunities for the members and the tourism fraternity of J&K. The aim is to create a platform for the fraternity for new networking opportunities, and providing an environment for learning workshops. The convention will also provide knowledge exchange and brain storming sessionsfor the delegates to enhance efficiency levels and provide enhanced infrastructure for theadventure tourism industry. Since our last convention, our membership base has grown considerably with several moreIndian and overseas tour operators joining our fold.
