Filipinos were the largest group of tourists who availed the Visa-on-Arrival scheme to visit India in May this year followed by Japanese.
A total number of 865 Visa-on-Arrival (VoAs) were issued out of which 206 tourists from Philippines and 177 from Japan availed the facility in May, according to Tourism Ministry data.
However, only one tourist from Laos and four each from Luxembourg and Myanmar availed the VoA facility extended by the government to woo more foreign tourists.
Tourists from Singapore (149), Indonesia (122), New Zealand (121), Finland (57), Cambodia (18) and Vietnam (6) also availed the VoA facility.
