Low-cost carrier IndiGo today said it plans to hire up to 1,500 people this year to support its major expansion drive.
IndiGo President Aditya Ghosh said, "IndiGo will hire 1,200-1,500 people in the calendar year 2011, of which 400-500 would be cabin crew staff, 200-300 pilots, besides some engineers and ground staff."
At present, IndiGo has about 3,400 employees and by the end of this year the number is expected to go up to 4,500-5,000.
