IRCTC announces five new packages for the Maharaja Express

The train would now be touching new destinations like UNESCO world heritage site of Ajanta Caves and Balasinor (third largest Jurassic Park in the world) to make the packages more attractive

The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced five new itineraries for its Maharaja Express on four routes. This includes two itineraries of four days each. So far, the super luxury train operates on eight days’ itineraries, resulting in higher trip cost.

“We are successfully running it since January 2012. We have operated 14 trips between January– April 2012 and achieved significant cost reduction in various services,” said IRCTC spokesperson Pradip Kundu. The new itineraries are: Treasures of India (3 nights/ 4 days)– Delhi – Agra – Ranthambore – Jaipur – Delhi; Gems of India (3 nights/ 4 days) – Delhi – Agra – Ranthambore – Jaipur –Delhi; Indian Splendour (7 nights/ 8 Days) Delhi– Agra – Ranthambore – Jaipur – Bikaner–Jodhpur – Udaipur – Balasinor – Mumbai; Heritage of India(7 nights/ 8 Days)– Mumbai–Ajanta–Udaipur – Jodhpur–Bikaner–Jaipur– Ranthambore–FatehpurSikri – Agra – Delhi.
